Enhance Entrepreneurship &Value Addition Training


Two days of training for Tawakal women cooperative business established in Sheikh District. This training imparts basic small business skills, cooperative methodology, group saving, group leadership, group dynamics, saving mobilization, constitution making, and basic financial literacy.  The training was organized by Candlelight in financial collaboration with KNH. Enhance Entrepreneurship &Value Addition through conducting small business training for established twenty women cooperative business investment and provision grants  to cooperative members to ably to learn how to manage small business skills and probably to choose a good business, to assist them how they start a small business and manage their business capitals and avoid loss of investment, to establish  and promote  women cooperative business investment   to enable women’s to  increase  the total  capitals of  cooperative  and its  individuals and improve on their household incomes. The training workshop was part of project entitled “Abandoning FGM/C through Community Empowerment and Food Security Improvement”

Overall Objective of the assignment

Enhance Entrepreneurship &Value Addition through conducting small business training for established twenty women cooperative business investment and provision grants to cooperative members to ably manage the first donation for their business investment and establish a strong savings and loans system and maintain average standards for their micro economic activities and advance on their business operations that will improve their livelihood.

Specific Objectives of the assignment:

The specific objectives of the training were as follows:

  • To learn how to manage small business skills and probably to choose a good business.
  • To assist them how they start a small business and manage their business capitals and avoid loss of investment.
  • To establish  and promote  women cooperative business investment   to enable women’s to  increase  the total  capitals of  cooperative  and its  individuals

The training strengthened understanding  of the Concept of Income generation activities and properly directed trainees to choose good profitable  business, financial controlling  and  management system, participants understood women cooperative business investment  model  and governance  system,  cooperative  bylaws,  cooperative  financial management   procedure, Cooperative Account deposits and  withdrawal systems. Women cooperative group elected their leadership committee like Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer.
