It is my pleasure to share with you, through the pages of this report, the achievements of CLHE in the year 2011.
The end of December 2011 marks 16 years of hard work and aiming towards improving the lives of the people of Somaliland. Another year has ended, marking another milestone in the journey of the organization towards its mission of changing the lives of many people for a better future. The achievements recorded in this report would not have been realized without the dedication and support from all of us: funding agencies, staff members and communities.
While the ripples and effects of the global economic crunch in the past few years on development aid can still be felt, CLHE continues to grow and maintain the pace of its activities. To this end, one main area whereby the organization put more emphasis during 2011 and will also continue in the coming years is the financial sustainability of the organization.
Other than the many achievements realized during the year, different challenges were also met but with the commitment and I would sincerely like to thank our funders for providing and maintaining their support to our programmes, to our staff who diligently contributed to the realization of our objectives and to communities and government counterparts for their supportive role.
On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank the Somaliland communities and the supportive role of the government for facilitating our work and continuing to be our partners. I would like to extend a special THANK YOU to our funding agencies for their financial and technical assistance without which we would not be able to do the outstanding work. Lastly, but not the least, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the staff of the organization for their dedication and commitment to make a difference to the vulnerable people of Somaliland.
