Distribution of Cash for Work Hand Tools


The cash for work hand tools were distributed for 720 beneficiaries that are working in the cash for work activities in the target 12 villages namely, Harada, Bilcileh, Hajisaalax, Mulaaxo, Goroyo-ood, Balicilmi, Jameecaadka, Balisamater, Cadawyuuarara, Odweyne, Ceelxume and kaladhac. The hand tools consisted of 720 sets and each set consisted of five items of crowbar, shovel/spade, wheelbarrow, rake and big axe.  The details on the number of sets distributed to every village is shown in the below table:

Distribution took place between 12th -25th August 2016 and during the distribution the Candlelight team was orientating the village community about the system and regulations of use and keeping the hand tools.  The hand tools were handed over to village committees who took the responsibility to keep the tools while the Cash for work activities are going on and beneficiaries shall take the tools before starting the work activities and return back to village community committee at end of the day.
