Capacity Building Training for Candlelight Senior Management Staff

Introduction

To enhance knowledge and skills of the staff is one of the pillars of Candlelight as institution. We believe that every Organisation’s development and growth depends on their staff development and at the same time optimum utilization of available resources. As result of this Candlelight HR department organized four days training workshop for senior management with close coordination with Candlelight Top level management. The training was held at Ambassador Hotel in Hargeisa, Somaliland. The workshop duration was four days starting from 14^th to 17^th of May 2016 and it has been covered varieties of topics such as leadership styles, performance management and change management. The workshop was facilitated by management and HR expertise from Horseed Management Solutions firm.

Objectives of the training:

To clearly understand various leadership style
Familiarization of performance appraisal system among the staff and process of conducting performance
To master Change management and process overcoming resistance to change

Achievement

The training was fruitful and workshop dealt with crucial areas which the staff has been facing obstacles including; the staff performance management, leadership approaches, dynamics of Change management.

We believe that at the end of the training workshop, the trainees gained necessary skills on leadership styles, process of conducting staff performance appraisal, factories influencing performance appraisal systems and change management. The trainees also attained the various forces against the change that we might experience while making changes. We expect that trainees attended this course will also training their staff and replicate the experience skills gained from this workshop. The staffs are expected to apply the skills obtained from workshop to their day to day activities.
